St. Andrew School Council invites you to attend our next parent education workshop!
Zones of Regulation: A Curriculum Designed to Foster Self-Regulation and Emotional Control will take place on Monday, April 30th from 7 to 9 pm at St. Andrew School – 201 Crestway Drive.
Come hear Jennifer Boggett, Occupational Therapist at CHEO, as she discusses “the Zones of Regulation” curriculum, which teaches children self-control, self-management, impulse control, resiliency, anger management and sensory regulation.
Explore what our children have been learning about the four Zones of Regulation, possible “triggers” we should recognize in our children, and what we can do to help.
Learn various tools for self-regulation, including sensory supports, calming techniques and thinking strategies.

Did you know…there are several ways you can continue to support school council all year round?
All funds raised by Council throughout the year go directly back to support St. Andrew students, families and teachers!
Some of the many initiatives Council has supported over the years include: technology and learning materials for classrooms, sports equipment for outdoor play, school yard improvement, welcome back and year-end bashes, school buses for field trips, arts programming, and more!
Check out our blog post What Does School Council do? for some more examples!
Now, as promised, here is some more information on Council’s ongoing fundraising initiatives:
Are you running out of labels? You can order new labels and support School Council all year long! Click here to order.
Did you know…when you order your child’s lunch through Lunch Lady, a portion comes back to the school? Click here to order.

BOSTON PIZZA BARRHAVEN:
Any time you dine in at Boston Pizza in Barrhaven, simply write “St. Andrew School” on the back of your receipt and drop in the box near the front of the restaurant.
The school will be credited with a percentage of your total bill!
That’s all! It’s that easy!
St. Andrew School Council is hosting a “Mardi Gras” Dance-a-thon on Tuesday, February 13th during school hours from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The money raised will benefit all St. Andrew students. Council will use the proceeds to purchase technology upgrades, math assessment tools, and sports equipment for the P.A.L.S. program.
PRIZES: ALL DONATIONS GLADLY ACCEPTED!
In an effort to provide incentive and make the day as much fun as possible, your Dance Committee is looking for any type of prize donation. If you have a community business contact and/or an employer who can help, please drop off the prize donation to the school office no later than Friday, February 9th. Please make sure the donation is clearly marked, so that we can send the donors a thank you note.
Please fill out and return the sponsor sheet and prize draw tickets by Monday, February 12th to be eligible to win prizes, including random draws ($10 gift cards) and a Pizza Party for the top fundraising class!
Here’s how it works:
▪ Every student will automatically have one chance to win a prize by filling out 1 ticket
▪ Every $5 raised gets an additional entry into the draw. The more you raise, the better your chance to win a prize!
▪ The top 5 ‘raisers’ in the school will receive a special prize!
Students are encouraged to dress up in their Valentine’s or Mardi Gras outfits (no masks please)!
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or comments.
Thank you again for your support. We know it will be a great day!
An information package will be sent home with students this week. You can find a copy of the package, including information on how to fill out your tickets, a copy of the sponsor form, and the template to print more tickets in the link below.
